During his week-long visit to Australia, Israeli Minister for Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Simhon met with senior representatives of the Victorian and New South Wales Governments.
Whilst in Melbourne, Minister Simhon met with Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu. The pair discussed the existing joint Research & Development (R&D) agreement between the two States and how to increase the participation levels in companies applying for this grant. They also re-affirmed the strong friendship between the State of Israel and Victoria.
On his visit to Sydney, Minister Simhon met with NSW Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner. Mr Stoner is also Minister for Trade and Investment, and Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services. During their meeting, the pair discussed increasing the economic relationship between the two states and about the possibility of starting a joint R&D program similar to the one with Victoria. Minister Simhon invited Mr Stoner to lead a business delegation of NSW and Australian companies to Israel to discover what Israel has to offer.
