Runners from across the globe are expected in Jerusalem for its first international marathon on March 25
The Jerusalem run has been titled “the Breathtaking Marathon” to capture the idea that it will enable runners to enjoy a glimpse of its visually stunning sights along the waybut will also be physically challenging due to its hilly terrain.
The event will be a dream come true for Mayor Nir Barkat, a five-time marathon runner, stating that “ few cities in the world can combine breathtaking, inspirational views, like Jerusalem’s famous historical sites and amazing landscapes, into their marathon course”.
The beauty of Jerusalem’s streets is likely to be as much a draw as the rigors of the route.
