Kando is a wastewater intelligence company focused on using wastewater data to help protect public health and the environment. The company’s data analytics platform, Kando Pulse, allows water utilities to detect, track, and anticipate events in their networks in real time, enabling users to optimize operations, increase water-reuse potential, and lower costs.
Kando Pulse provides water-quality sensors and samplers connected to a data fusion and analytics software engine and optimized to deliver operational intelligence in real time.
Kando collects wastewater data from the sewage network, and a cloud-based analytics engine transforms it into actionable insights showcased in a dashboard for utilities and wastewater treatment plants to utilize in their daily operations.
Kando Pulse enables capabilities and analytics such as future modeling; configurable, automatic, and real-time event alerts; contamination source analysis; and polluter identification.
The platform is also designed for community health applications by providing insights about the health status within the community, thereby serving as a decision-making tool for governmental entities and heath departments.
In 2020, Kando won Seagate’s Innovator of the Year competition, and in 2022 its New Zealand project won the Paper of the Year prize for demonstrating the company’s technology.
