Sonovia is dedicated to developing sustainable ultrasonic technology in an effort to eliminate the extensive pollution caused by textile finishing and dyeing while significantly reducing costs and increasing performance.
A fundamental issue for the textile industry is the pollution caused by outdated dyeing and bleaching processes.
Sonovia improves textile production sustainability in several ways. Firstly, products using Sonovia chemicals and processes are more durable. Secondly, Sonovia’s denim dyeing process requires lower water quantities relative to traditional methods. Lastly, Sonovia’s chemistry requires few or no binders, resulting in a lower toxicological burden on wastewater. The manufacturing process of chemicals that involves binders also requires curing/fixation at high temperatures, so by eliminating this requirement, energy is saved.
A recent study shows that Sonovia’s technology for dyeing jeans reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 60%, water use by 85%, wastewater that pollutes drinking water by 99%, and land use by 90%, compared to the traditional industrial dyeing process of jeans.
