After the atrocities of October 7th, OurCrowd and its vast network of partners have launched an Israel Resilience Fund. An investment vehicle aimed at supporting breakout companies negatively impacted by the war. Historically the Israeli economy and technology ecosystem have rebounded incredibly strongly, post periods of crisis.
Innovation and ingenuity are at the centre of the Israeli technology ecosystem, and OurCrowd, along with its partner and advisory network aims to further fund and promote companies truly innovating and adding to the global technology revolution.
Israel’s tech sector employs more than 14% of all workers in Israel, produces over 18% of Israel’s GDP and contributes about 50% of Israel’s exports.
Investor Returns
While we can never guarantee investor returns, historically, investing in Israel during a crisis has proven to be opportune because Israel’s ecosystem remains resilient after temporary dips in market prices. Past performance, as investors know, does not assure future success. Still, historical data indicates that Israel’s economy can be expected to emerge stronger and thrive in the aftermath of these disruptive periods.
Traditionally, challenging vintages are well-positioned to exploit discounted valuations and generate meaningful returns. Many tech giants were founded during periods when markets were distressed.
OurCrowd’s Unique Advantage
Ranked by PitchBook as Israel’s most active venture investor every year since 2013, with over 420 Israeli companies in our portfolio and hundreds more in our funds and incubators, and a track record of investing in over 50 companies in under 6 months, OurCrowd is uniquely positioned to deploy capital quickly into Israeli start-ups to create an immediate impact.
The Fund
OurCrowd is targeting a $50M Israel Resilience Fund aiming to deploy capital into start-ups either directly affected by current conditions or developing technology of immediate assistance in the current crisis. The fund will be guided by an expert strategic advisory board that brings together some of the leading figures in global VC investing.
As an extra contribution to Israel’s start-up ecosystem at this sensitive time, OurCrowd is waiving all management fees and carried interest for all investments in the fund.
