Making the Negev bloom with high tech
A new incubator hopes to profit and also bring jobs to the south.
Israel’s high-tech boom of the past two decades was centered on the strip from Gadera to Haifa, and largely bypassed the Galilee and the Negev. Someone wants to change this.
Two IDF reserve colonels, Yoram Moyal and Ronny Marom have founded Green Group, which will set up a technology incubator in Yeruham in the Negev. It has already been promised NIS 20 million for investment in companies in the regions from private investors and former high-tech entrepreneurs. On June 14, Green Group will host a conference in Yeruham for potential entrepreneurs, in order to recruit companies and get down to work.
