The Australian Department of Industry, Innovation and Science has announced the opening of the Global Connections Fund (GCF), a key component of the Global Innovation Strategy under the Australian Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda. The GCF will enable researchers and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) from the priority economies identified in the Strategy to link with Australian researchers and SMEs in areas of importance to the strategic growth sectors.
Priority areas are:
• Advanced Manufacturing
• Food and Agribusiness
• Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals
• Mining Equipment, Technology and Services
• Oil, Gas and Energy Resources
Applications are now open for GCF Priming Grants. These grants of AU$7,000 will enable Australian SMEs and Australian researchers to physically meet with their international partners in Israel and develop their collaborative ideas.
Bridging Grants are larger follow-on grants (up to $50,000) designed as seed funding capital to enable viable projects to grow in scope and scale, to test commercialisation and proof of concept activities.
Applications for Priming Grants will be accepted by the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering from 15 April 2016 until 27 May 2016 midnight (AEST).
