The two main advantages of this product are the following:

  1. Copper as an antimicrobial tool

One of the core properties of copper is the spectrum of antimicrobial efficacy. Copper kills a wide array of microorganisms, including gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, fungi and viruses. The biocidal effect is achieved through several non-specific mechanisms, preventing the development of copper resistance, allowing copper to be an effective treatment against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.

  • Copper enhances wound healing

Infection of wounds by microorganisms delays the healing capacity. Copper, with antimicrobial properties, reduces wound infection, enhancing wound healing capacity. Copper plays an essential role in many of the body physiological processes that comprise wound healing. Transmitting copper through the blood to the wound area induces healing processes, such as the production of new capillaries and skin layers. For example, with diabetic ulcers and pressure sores, with significantly decreased blood supply to the wound, systemic copper does not reach sufficient levels on the wound bed. Copper liberated from copper oxide impregnated wound dressings stimulates the production of new capillaries and new skin, as demonstrated in several experiments.
